MailChimp alternatives for Shopify merchants
Usually, when a couple breaks up, it’s none of my business. But when that couple is holding my email list, waving it around while they fight, it is my business. It is literally my business, where I earn my living and it’s a service I depend on to grow.
Let’s talk about the alternatives.
(full disclosure I have not tried all of these yet, but I as I play with them all over the next few weeks I will release another blog with my reviews!)
SendPulse
SendPulse is an email marketing service that offers up to 2,500 subscribers on their free plan, with 1,500 emails. This gives a lot of growing room for new business, and they have a drag and drop editor for easy campaigns building. Other features include trigger emails (such as an abandoned cart or purchased triggered thank you note,) subscription forms and reporting.
MailerLite
MailLite offers up to 1,000 monthly subscribers, but their free plan does not come with any newsletter or custom design templates. They have a drag and drop editor, custom landing pages and pop up forms included in all plans.
Klaviyo
Klaviyo says it has “all the features without the extra fees”, but their free plan is only for a list up to 250 subscribers with 500 email sends. They offer automated emails, reporting, and segmentation.
Sendinblue
If you have a small list or very segmented list, this might be the platform for you. Sendinblue offers a free plan with 300 emails per day, and then around $30/month for up to 40,000 emails per month.
BenchMark
With up to 2,000 subscribers and 1,400 emails per month on the free plan, BenchMark has all the basic features but with less advanced reporting than other platforms.
